John,

I have to tell you how incredibly impressed I am with the job that you did reupholstering my chair and ottoman.  I have to admit I was a little nervous at first.  I have never had furniture reupholstered so I didn’t expect to get a product back that was better than I could have ever expected.  I purchased a new couch about the same time that I brought my chair to you, and if you compare the two in quality and overall design, the chair wins hands down.  The quality and attention to detail in the upholstery is unmatched to a factory made piece of furniture.

I rarely sat in the chair because it was uncomfortable, but since it has been in the family so long, I kept it. But now, you have somehow made it an absolute pleasure to sit in.  It is the first thing guests mention when they come into my living room and it’s the first place I choose to sit.  So if you post this for people to see I would like to tell anyone that reads this that you have been a pleasure to work with and reupholstering is a great way to have the furniture you want with quality that far surpasses any factory made piece of furniture.  Thank you so very much!

PICTURE 1 - 1950'S  LOW PROFILE SOFA. The foam is worn out and the fabric is faded and rubbed. Sofa sold for $850.00

PICTURE 2 - We take every re-upholstery commission and strip it to the bare wood, rebuild and tighten every joint, re-tie every spring and strengthen the structures that make a sofa a sofa. Only then - do we add all new foam - generally wrapped in a soft batting - and then add your choice of fabric.

Picture 3 - cost of re-upholstery in this case was $650 - and took approximately 1 week. Gray velvet fabric was $20 per yard - total yards was 18, and the piping (welting) was 12yds of silk gray. (we suggest extra in the piping in  order to have the tie joints at the very back rather than at several places along the cushions and surround. Total cost for the entire project including the sofa - $1920.00 - overall length - 90". (Notice the difference in the arms of the sofa)
